Here is some explanation on how to I post-processed this picture. I took this picture in August 2016 during a sunrise in the Dolomites. The precise location is at Alpe Di Siusi. This place is perfect for a golden hour shot since the sun rise on the left and light the sloppy hills and the mountains.
To create this picture, I used the two following exposure blended with a luminosity mask. The goal was to recover the highlight in the sky.
I started in Lightroom by recovering shadows and adding contrast. In Photoshop, I used an orton effect to give a dreamy look to the picture and corrected the blue. I used a dodge and burn layers to add more depth to the forest and the light on the mountain. I finished by adding some sharpening and noise reduction. The final step was to give justice to the size of the mountain by warping it.
